The Consumption

Never Consume Boring

About

Kattie Profile Hi! I’m Kattie and I love flavour! I’m a firm believer that anything you consume shouldn’t be boring or tasteless and that there is no reason you can’t eat nutritious, healthy whole foods whilst enjoying every decadent mouthful!

My cooking style and diet choices are a dish made of my life experience: member of a large (Italian and Scottish heritage) family, eldest sibling of five (it’s impossible for me to not cook for an army), daughter of a naturopath, and a passionate foodie living with hypothyroidism.

I started this blog to share my favourite recipes, tips and ideas on how to consume the most out of life! To me this means eating for increased energy, long-term health and to support natural healing, as well as saving money and time (who doesn’t want more time!?) by cooking with whole foods and meal prepping. This lifestyle allows me to consume my favourite things in life – time with family and friends, travel, bodyboarding on the beautiful West Australian coast and the next amazing dish at the newest restaurant / café in town! #neverconsumeboring

I subscribe to an 80/20 approach – after many years of self-experimentation (which is an ongoing journey), I have found that this is what works for me. 80~90% of the time I eat whole foods and lower carb (I have moved away from labels like Paleo / Primal / Keto but these eating styles underpin my approach). The other 10-20% allows me to eat my Nan’s almond biscuits at Christmas time, enjoy a choc-top at the cinemas with my Dad, brunch with friends or some good quality ciabatta with olive oil and aged balsamic. I believe it is important for every person to learn to listen to their body, self-experiment and find what works for them.

Enough blabbing! More consuming!
