Virgin Watermelon Lime Margaritas

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe Pin Recipe

This summer heat has me loving fresh, fruity and cool ingredients just like these awesome Virgin Watermelon Lime Margaritas! Grab a glass and enjoy the sunshine!

If you’re trying to cut down on alcohol but still have something fun to drink then virgin cocktails are the way to go! The trick with reducing your alcohol intake but still feel like you’re not missing out is to spoil yourself with something both delicious and fancy 😀 You really won’t miss the alcohol and you’ll be the envy of the party with a big glass of refreshing frozen and zesty watermelon drink in hand. What are some of your favourite mocktails? Share them in the comments below.

We get some pretty huge watermelon’s here in Australia; and try as I might sometimes I just can’t eat it all in time. So I usually chop and freeze about a half of any watermelon I buy so I can grab it out of the freezer at any time and add it to smoothies, juices and chill cocktails!

Technically you can do this with any fruit (and vegetable) – just chop, chuck it into a bag and freeze. It’s a great way to minimise food wastage and handy for quick on-the-go meals.

Virgin Watermelon Lime Margaritas steps method

Start by cutting a lime in half and removing the rind from one half.

With the other half, cut a small wedge and then slice it through the middle (but not through the skin). Use this wedge to wet the rim of a pair of large glasses and then dip and twist them into a bowl of desiccated coconut to create a coconut rimmed cocktail glass. So pretty!

Place the frozen watermelon, coconut water and the ½ of lime flesh into a blender. Squeeze in the juice from your leftover ½ lime and lime slice and blend until smooth.

Use a spoon to scoop the mixture into your glasses (careful not to ruin the coconut rim). Garnish with an extra lime wedge!

You’ll feel fancy AF reclining with one of these tasty and refreshing margaritas in hand. Find a spot in the sun and enjoy!
